The CEO of Websense, Gene Hodges is in town. The Pubcast spent some time discussing the Websense growth strategy, Buzz Aldrin’s flying fists, and Gene’s future plans for the company.


In 2006 Gene Hodges left McAfee, where he was then President, to join Websense. He changed the strategy of the company, purchasing Port Authority and SurfControl in quick succession, and positioning Websense as a primary player in the data security market.
Gene is in South Africa as part of a tour to understand the diverse markets in which they do business. The Pubcast team talked to him about astronomy, data security and the Websense response to Social Networking and Cloud Computing.
