Thanks to the work of Helaine Leggat, the Information Security Pubcast has reached an agreement with the Information Security Group to record and release some of the ISG material as podcasts.

In this first release, the Pubcast team made their way to the recent Information Security Group panel discussion on the issues facing security practitioners today.


The Information Security Group had organized a panel discussion, hosted by Deloitte, to debate the challenges facing Infosec practitioners today. Chaired by Kris Budnik, the panel comprised:
  • First Rand Bank – Craig Summers (Head of Information Risk Services);
  • Telkom - Steve Jump (Senior Manager for Corporate Information Security Governance);
  • Bankserv - Andrew Viljoen (Information Security Officer)
Johannesburg; and
  • Stock Exchange - Gerhard Cronje (IT Governance Head)

The topics covered a broad set of issues, ranging from access to budgets and staff, appropriate governance frameworks and the use of Identity and Access Management in organisations.
