 Security awareness is often pushed aside in the interests of addressing immediate, technical aspects of security. In this interview with Dr Adele Da Veiga, she explains why awareness is inimical to information security success, and discusses her framework to achieve this.Adele has given lots of thought to awareness: enough to produce a framework that imbeds awareness into security operations rather than manages it as a side issue, as so often happens in information security practice. Together with Professor Jan Eloff she published the paper: “A framework and assessment instrument for information security culture” which discusses the issue in detail. The Pubcast team met with Adele Da Veiga, and got the practitioner’s view by including Chris Hand in the panel.
