In the midst of the early stages of a global recovery from financial turmoil, PWC have released a report detailing how this has affected Information Security. The report is called “Trial by fire: What global executives expect of information security-in the middle of the world’s worst economic downturn in thirty years.”  The Pubcast team went to PWC in Sunninghill to interview Angeli Hoekstra and Naeem Seedat on the findings.

PWC interviewed more than 7200 interviews with CEOs, CFOs, CIOs, CISOs, CSOs and other executives responsible for their organization’s IT and security investments in 130 countries, in order to determine the effect of the global recession.

The results are expressed in 12 findings, ranging from the obvious to the debatable. Business continues to support the need for security spending, even in the recessionary climate, but expects more value for their money.

But how is security value measured? And is business and security really talking the same language? The Pubcast went to PWC to investigate.
